I don't think that this was possible at the time that Grump our savior dropped this delicious nugget, but you can now also right click on Project Zomboid in Steam, go to "Properties", click the "Set Launch Options" button, and add "-nosteam" into the text field (without the quotation marks) Jordos, you must launch outside of steam. This method Aniketos posted works.

Zeeks is pretty light on players now... Even though steam integration is really quite simple.

Zeeks is pretty light on players now... At the moment of my writing, there are exactly 10 players spread across 4 "open" Steam servers (Both IWBUMS and stable). 7 of those players are on a whitelist-by-application-only RP server. There are 7 players spread across 5 "open" non-Steam IWBUMS servers. I think the entire multiplayer PZ community is in a lull, Grumps. ... Even though steam integration is really quite simple. If you're familiar with the SteamCMD command-line and the associated dedicated PZ server set up process, you should hit up Zeek on TeamSpeak - I'd certainly be grateful if you did! Last I heard he was experiencing errors acquiring the server files So what exactly do I do? I cant find Zeeks anymore, should I just add it? Steam servers won't be listed for non-Steam clients, and non-Steam servers won't be listed for Steam clients (which is now the default client). To disable Steam integration, right click "Project Zomboid" in Steam > "Properties" > "Set Launch Options" and add "-nosteam" (without the quotes). The server should be visible in the "Public Servers" list once more. You'll know you did it right if when you start the game, the version number displayed in the corner is not proceeded by "(Steam)"

I'm using a PC, and I can find the server on steam but I keep getting the message "Invalid Username/Password" when I try to log on. Is this problem related to steam?

Wind are you trying to log on using a character that was saved? Try using a new Username and Password!

This thread is obsolete - this work-around isn't necessary anymore!
I've added the the way to make sure you're on the same branch as Zeek's to your Support thread. I've renamed this thread, added a disclaimer to the OP, and tied an anchor to the thing to hopefully avoid similar confusion in the future.
