With the addition of Bedford Falls, a dilemma quickly follows. How the heck do you get there?
Everyone is excited to see the new map, but not so excited to walk the distance. Not to mention, where is it? Most of us know how to use the online PZ map, but not all of us. This will lead to many harassments in global chat; "Bedford Falls? Bedford Falls? BEDFORD FALLS?!"
Perhaps we can nip this in the bud, and introduce new spawn points to Zeek's Haven. I have presented several choices, and have disallowed the viewing of results until you have cast your vote, to avoid any group thinking or biased decisions. Consider these following points as you make your choice.
Realism is key to Project Zomboid, and having a far, out of the way place adds depth and a certain visceral envelopment. Not all people spawning will be friendlies. Distance from spawn points is usually distance from player violence. A populated city is a looted city.
Vote on community, vote on!

I agree. I don't enjoy traveling long distances so the more spawn points the better.

I vote to not include any new spawn points... Finding Bedford is part of the fun.

Whats Valley Station? I like the idea of being able to spawn in every area though. I never played a new map so this should be great!

My apologies, I had not added a "nay" option. Until now. z)

I think it would be cool to have 1 spawn point for every city. It would be a long and boring run from WP

Yessss, we really need spawn points for every city. Road trips are pretty boring without vehicles

I'm thinking that some areas should be more 'advanced' - I.E. you can't just create a new character there every time you die. It makes being there both more special as well as riskier.

I like this idea... if it takes a time investment to reach some destination(s), it might give interactions there a little more gravity.

I agree with Zeek. Having to find and travel to Bedford makes it that much better when you make it there and more heartbreaking when you die there.

I really do think that there should be some sort of compromise, if you are not going to introduce new spawn points then it'll turn into a grind and I doubt people will even be over there interacting for fear of being shot (lots of people quivering inside or trying to find augers and make dogs breed and and and...... *SHAKES FIST AT HYDROCRAFT*). I die in Bedford - I go to the gunstore in Mul / WP - I go to Bedford - I shoot... I die....... so on! If you die in Bedford and then have to do the same grind of picking up supplies en-route to get there then I just think it'll take away a lot of the fun.
So why don't you think of adding limited spawn points? I'd love to see one over on the east side of the map as I said previously, if Bedford is going to be where it is on the Crashmap overlay then I don't think we'll necessarily need one for there but I know that everyone is going to head there via the police station in SW Mul!
Is it possible to include Bedford falls anywhere you want on the map? I think it wold be a much more sensible idea to put it in an area where people don't gravitate past a bang bang store, is it not possible to plop Bedford in the area SE of Dixie caravan park? This way neither Mul or WP will be depopulated as people will still be travelling between the towns equally.
So to briefly sum up what i'd like to see
1. Bedford put SE of the Barg-n-clothes store in Dixie (this way you don't need to add spawn points and it will keep the map balanced). 2. A spawn point added way north of the mall so people can experience that area. 3. Moar events / events that are planned and added into the forums (understand that it will take a bit of planning and that the admins have their own lives) so people can plan a time to come on.
Cheers

Getting a little off topic there.. We aren't talking about "moving" Bedford, which I'm not sure is possible on a steam integrated server, but how the heck would that balance anything? It would just make a Super Muldraugh!
The only compromise you have to make, is how easy do you want it for new players to get to Bedford vs. Griefers?

If there is no spawn point in bedford, I think what will happen is a few people will move in there and set up and arm themselves. Then, new people will run all the way over there to check it out and get killed by the people who set up there. Then the new people will make new characters, run all the way over there again, and get killed once more. Then these new people will either quit trying to check out bedford or quit the server altogether.
With no spawn points, I think bedford will turn out to be the playground of a few regulars and will drive new people off the server.

I agree, I think it should be fair game, just like WP and Mul. It will be a lot harder for people to grief if they have to check 3 whole cities to find someone. Plus I think it will be more attractive to new players, which I've noticed more of lately. Server population has been in the steady teens and twenties.

Fantomas, what you said makes sense. But if you bring guns with you and kill said killers then they also have to make the trip back over. Regulars have the advantage either way since there on more anyways. I haven't tried Bedford much but from what I heard it has more loot then Wp or Muld so not having a spawn point there balances it out. Walking from Muld to Bedford dosent seem too far either. I see both points of view tho.
