i would start by googling your symptoms and then after that if you can't find decent answers, post your issues to a tech board and ask your question there.
Good luck.

First off, open up the keyboard in the device manager there, are make sure all of the drivers are installed, and update.
After that, restart the PC, and see if that repairs it.
That might fix your keyboard, then you can update the drivers for the USB ports, restart, and see if it works for the ports.
Also make sure that windows is fully updated. If you just installed, you might have some updating to do, which can often times fix these issues on its own. Update to the latest edition of 7, through windows update.

Attempt a reinstall of Windows 7 if you can. You likely have the wrong drivers for your USB ports. A clean install might repair that.
If that doesn't work, you may need to find the drivers for your ports, and install them.

Few generic troubleshooting steps: - Make sure you have all pending Windows Updates installed.
- From the device manager first hit "Action > Scan for Hardware Changes," then try to update your drivers for your USB controllers, your Keyboard devices, and whatever's in the "Computer" group. There are other drivers and firmwares that could be the culprit, but these are the big ones that come to mind (that aren't a pain in the @** to update on most systems).
- Run the Windows Hardware Troubleshooter and see what it comes up with.
- Browse the Event Viewer for errors and warnings that might give you more insight into the problem (or at the very least, more material to Google). Right click the Windows icon in the bottom-left of your desktop to bring up the Power User menu and select "Event Viewer" - see if there's any events listed in the "Hardware Events" log in the "Applications and Services" group pertaining to your keyboard and USB ports/controller.
- It's unlikely, but data corruption can cause all variety of symptoms - you can run CHKDISK to look for errors - but it can take hours depending on your system, and should not be interrupted
If the USB ports that stopped working are either in the same physical location on the laptop, or of the same version (i.e. both USB 2 or USB 3), there's a chance that your USB controller crapped out and died on you (from the looks of that picture, the USB 3 controller), which usually is a pretty involved repair on a laptop - the cheaper/less risky option would be to get a USB hub to give you all the ports you need. Just to be safe, I'd get a powered USB hub (one that you plug into a power outlet in addition to the USB port itself) just to make sure your USB devices get all the power they need, and don't over-draw the surviving port's power supply. Only a localized set of keys failing does sound to me like the ribbon-wire that connects the keyboard to the laptop has slipped (which is unlikely, since most manufacturers use locking ports of a sort) or become damaged, or the keyboard itself is dying. If you are comfortable disassembling your laptop, a replacement keyboard can be purchased online for and is usually decently straightforward to install. There are often disassembly guides online in places such as ifixit.com (who often also have guides for replacing specific components in your devices) - or you can fly by intuition alone, if you're comfortable with electronics. But label each screw you take out and take frequent pictures such that you can assemble the device correctly once again. NOTE that if your laptop is still under warranty, taking it apart yourself will void that warranty - and any future service from the manufacturer will come at full price. Long story short, it sounds to me like you have some hardware failure on your hands - either from physical shock or technical malfunctions. But I am by no means an expert. The thing about laptops is that they vary greatly from make to make and model to model, whereas desktop PCs are much more similar to one another (and thus easier to troubleshoot). Your absolute best bet would be to contact the manufacturer and send it in for service, or short of that, see if a local computer repair technician can work out the issue. If you contact the manufacturer and it proves to be a tech malfunction, there's a chance they'll fix it all for a small cost - but of course you'll be without your laptop for a count of weeks. I can try to help diagnose it a little further if you want to send me your system information - hit "Windows Key" + "R" and type "MSINFO32" in the dialogue box and hit "Run". Select "File > Export" and save the information somewhere. I'd be happy to scan this file for problems for you, but I can't guarantee that I'll find anything, or be much help if I do - this is getting a little far from my familiarity. I can't remember whether or not that file contains sensitive information, so if you want to go this route, upload it to Google Drive or Dropbox or some such and PM me a link. As Rave and Eärendil suggested, a tech help forum would be a much better place to seek help regarding this matter - we're a tiny community of gamers, not a large collective of tech-specialists. My suggestions may well break even more things

Did the PC come with windows 8 on it and your retro'd it back to 7? What is the make and model of your laptop? With this information I'll see what I can do. Me being an IT guy I would speculate in conformity with Aniketos about the hardware failure on the keyboard issue. Being that e,d,w and the surrounding diagonal key section's w,s,x, & r,f,v do. But we should be able to handle the USB drivers with my required information and I will still try for a keyboard fix with a new or rather alternate driver.

I had this problem on my laptop about eight months ago. Had to replace the keyboard. It was a pain in the rear but I was already out of warranty. It ended up being less trouble than I thought it would be.
