Item: (House Keys)
It was the beginning of a new life that made Serra Frasier travel out of state with her two children. It was her chance to live how she wanted. Her chance to become the author she always wanted to be. Her chance to- "But mom, why do we hafta go to Kentucky?" Trevor lisped from the backseat. "Obviously she's totally prego and wants some fried chicken from the source." Brittany responded, rolling her eyes. "Brit, watch your mouth! We're going to Kentucky because we need a change of scenery." Their mother answered as drove. "Ithn't prego like a tomato thauthe? How ith that bad?" Trevor asked. "Oh my gosh you are such an idiot." Brittany sighed before crying out as Trevor pinched her. "Ow! Moooom! Trevor pinched me!" "I did not!" "Guys! Stop!" Serra barked at them both, a smile growing on her face as they didn't listen. The two children did as children do on a long car ride into a world unknown, leaving behind what they knew. Their mother smiled, happy to have both her babes with her on her trek of self discovery. She had spent eight years living under the rule of a tyrant and it was finally time to move on. She was only twenty six, Brittany being nine and Trevor at six. She knew it was for the best that they move out of Virginia to somewhere that bastard wouldn't be able to follow. For a few years at least. Would definitely take him a while to get that parole officer off his back. "Mom! What the heck is a Spiffo's?" Brittany asked as they drove by, taking a left off the highway, heading down a suburban street. "Not sure. Must be like Kentucky's little Mickey Mouse or something." "I love Mickey Mouthe!" Trevor exclaimed. "You sure do, dingus." Brittany scoffed before Trevor pinched her again, igniting that whole situation for the thousandth time. "Children! Save the war for when we're inside the house!" Serra yelled over her kids as she continued down the street. They passed houses and families engaging in their normal Saturday activities in the summer. After a few more minutes, the family finally arrive to a two story house with white paneling and a paneled parking area. Just as Serra pulled in, the children immediately jumped out of the car before she even turned off the car. "Hey! Guys!... Ugh fuck... Whatever." She sighed, climbing out of the car, looking up at the house she managed to get a deal on. "Hope you guys like waiting, cause I have the keyyyys." Serra called out as both kids shoved and whined, attempting to open the door. Grabbing her purse, Serra sauntered up towards the door with two demons fighting over it, finally opening the gate to hell. Brittany and Trevor disappeared up the stairs already as Serra walked towards the loveseat, plopping onto it. She tossed her purse beside her, noting the papers inside. Wanting to reassure herself that this wasn't a dream, she reached for the papers, pulling them out to read them. A smile grew as she closed her eyes, resting the papers against her chest. "Sarah Sarahson... We are the Sarahsons." She sighed with a giant grin. Her first happy memory before all hell broke loose.

Item: (Ripped Sheets)It was the eleventh day after the Sarahson family moved into Muldraugh, Kentucky... Or as Brittany liked to say, "Buttfuck, nowhere." Let it be known that a swear jar was started up on the fifth day and has acmy favorite sandwich addition :Dulated over ten dollars since. Sarah had started up the last load of their laundry, consisting of old pillowcases and sheets that the kids brought with them. It was positively astounding to her that she had her own washer and dryer inside their home. She had grown used to walking down the street with sixteen dollars in her pocket and a basket full of musky clothes. The one thing she wouldn't miss was that God damned smell of cigarette smoke.
The sound of the dryer went off, bringing Sarah back to the present as she opened the white door, pulling out the load. Once it was all loaded into the white plastic basket, she headed out the backdoor and into the yard, smiling at her two gifts on Earth. Brittany was sitting on a lawn chair, face chatting on her phone with ear buds plugged in. Trevor was sitting in the grass with his action figures, setting them up and making them fight each other. With her free hand, Sarah pulled up a chair beside Sarah, starting to fold the dingy fabrics from the past.
"Mom, do you have to?" Brittany asked as she shot her mother a look. Sarah simply smiled, folding Brittany's pillowcases.
"I could always be that evil mom that turns off the router. That sounds like fun, right? Then we could all play boardgames." Sarah smirked to her daughter, tossing the cleaned linens on her lap.
"There's a thing called Child Abuse. Have you heard of it?" The girl snapped as her mother folded one of the sheets.
"You're nine years old. You can't get snippy until you're at least thirteen, so lose the tude." Sarah ordered, whipping the folded sheets at Brittany's head.
"Ohemgee! You bi-"
"Hey! I don't think you have any more quarters to lose to that mouth of yours." Sarah shook her head as her daughter got to her feet, whirling the sheets around. "Hah, it has to be wet for that to work well." She said before her daughter whipped the sheets. Sarah let out a squeal as she rolled out of her own chair, the two girls going at it as Trevor watched.
Brittany whipped the sheets a few more times before Sarah finally got a hold of them, turning it into tug-of-war. Trevor smiled as he jumped in, pulling in an entirely different direction than the two before the sheets let out a loud rip. The family all fell on their backs, looking at the sheets in silence. Brittany and Trevor looked to their mother, expecting a scolding like from their father. Sarah simply held the sheets, observing them before slowly breaking out into a laugh. Her kids watched her, utterly confused as she started to rip the sheets up even more.
"I can't believe we kept this shit." Sarah chuckled to herself, looking from the ripped sheets to her kids, giving a nod. Trevor took to it first, ripping his piece into more fragments. Brittany shook her head, a smile across her face as she ripped hers as well.
"You're bat-shit crazy." Brittany said, Sarah nodding.
"Mummahs not crazy." Trevor stated, crawling over to his mother and resting his head on her lap. Sarah shook her head, petting his head.
"I like to think we're unique."

Item: (Strawberry Packet)Two weeks in and the Sarahson's had managed to settle their feet into the new home. Brittany and Trevor were starting school once again; Fourth grade and Kindergarten. Everything seemed to fall into place so easily that it almost felt surreal. Sarah set up her 'office' where she'd take pictures of the items people sent her to vlog about and critique. People seemed to listen to her opinion and it brought in the money she needed to take care of her two kids. Well that and government aid, but who's really judging here? Her fingers flitted across her laptop as she finished up her review on this new kitchen knife that could apparently cut through coconut easily. She had bought a small one from the farmers market down the street, and to her surprise, the knife worked. Definitely a keeper.
Once she submitted the article, she shut her laptop and looked around the house. It was strange to be alone and know that she would be for a couple more hours. To know that no one would come home demanding dinner. To know that her kids could come home and not worry about being scolded, or worse. It was strange that she had gotten used to that life. Drumming her fingers on the cover of her laptop, Sarah debated in her mind about what to do. As her mind tried to figure out a plan, a bird flew by the window, chirping it's little song. It managed to peak her interest enough to check out what was going on outside her window. Leaving her laptop on the couch, Sarah sauntered over to the kitchen counter and leaned against it, looking outside at the grassy yard they owned. She bit her lip, noting how dull it was before nodding to herself.
"Flowers. That's what we need." She assured herself as her new project came into view; a garden. Grabbing her wallet and keys, Sarah left through the front door and locked it behind her, walking around the back of her house towards the farmers market. The idea of having her own garden brought back memories from when she was Brittany's age, visiting her grandmother who had an enormous garden around her small cottage. She could practically taste the fresh strawberries that grew there, which became her aim on this trip. Sarah maneuvered around the few trees in her way before crossing the street, walking right inside. The bell over the door jingled as she entered. There were a few people inside picking at the fruits and veggies already grown in bins. There were a few potted flowers and herbs, but from the looks of it, the crops may have already been bought. On her mission, Sarah went right up to the counter as the man turned to greet her.
"Ello there miss, are you looking for something?" He asked, his voice deep and rugged, which betrayed his chipmunk cheeks and jovial smile.
"Yeah, I was just wondering if you sell seeds at all? Or even grown plants? Like strawberries perhaps?" Sarah asked as she observed the man more. He wasn't bad looking. In fact, he was rather cute. And that smile may have kicked it up a few notches.
"Oh yeah, we have flowers and sprouts, but we're running low on seeds. Someone just bought a boat load of our vegetables... Sprouts and seeds. Guess they're paranoid about that sickness." He chuckled softly as Sarah shrugged. The fact that her hopes of having little strawberry patches around her flowers destroyed her hopes for the day.
"Heh. Yeah maybe... Well, alright. I'll buy a pack of lavender bulbs, some roses bulbs too... And maybe a bit of rosemary." Sarah nodded with her order as the man scanned a few things on a pallet on the counter.
"Sounds good, never can have enough luck, right?" He smiled before nodding over to one of the potted plants. "Can you just bring that rosemary over here?"
"Yeah, sure..." Sarah complied, turning around as she grabbed the small pot, taking in the smell before turning back to the counter and handing it to the man. He disappeared into the backroom for a second before coming back with two rather large cartons of bulbs already sprouting.
"Alright, and that's going to be thirty five ninety." The guy smiled as he started putting the cartons in a bag. Sarah handed him her card as she sighed. The guy still smiled before handing her back the card after swiping it, but with the addition of five packets of strawberry seeds.
"What's that?" Sarah asked, somewhat confused.
"Strawberry seeds. On me. You look like you really like them." He snickered as she nodded with a smile.
"Yeah. Heh. Well, thank you. I'm Sarah." She introduced as she held her hand to him. He took it with a warm handshake, his hands somewhat rough.
"Jared. Nice to meet you, Sarah." He smiled, holding her hand a little longer than she expected. Once he noticed, he immediately handed her the bag of sprouts, nodding. "Hope to see you soon."
"Heh, you just might." Sarah nodded, taking her things and heading towards the door. She looked back just as she approached the door, catching a glimpse of Jared checking her out. Containing the smile she had, Sarah walked out the door and back across the street towards her house. Sure, she didn't get exactly what she wanted that day, but she got something else instead; inspiration to talk to another man.

Item: (Bath Towel)
It had been four days since Sarah had seen Jared and already she could feel her heart tugging at it's own yearnings. However, the mother of two from choices made by the heart learned to make better judgement. Hell would freeze over before she fell in love again. And for the most part, it wasn't even love. It was dictatorship. Domination. Control over a helpless girl who couldn't tell the difference between a romantic night and a quick minute. These thoughts rattled through her mind underneath her messy brown ponytail, her bangs down in her face. The sound of some kids show didn't help her focus either. With a peep over her shoulder, she spied on her little boy, thumb in his mouth as he watched the television. She smiled to herself, noticing his shirt rolled up and his little belly out in the air. Lazy, yet adorable. And still sucking his thumb.
"Hey Trev, remember what you promised?" Sarah called out, pretending she hadn't turned to look.
"What? I didn't do nuffin." Trevor replied, rustling around a bit. Sarah turned to look as he put both his hands on his belly.
"Ahhh, okay. Must have been my imagination." She snickered, looking at her computer screen, which contained nonsensical words. She couldn't work today, and it was going to be a problem. Maybe just a day out would do her some good. A small little vacation. Just for the day at least.
"Hey, come upstairs and watch tv while I shower, okay?" Sarah asked as she got up from the chair, shutting her laptop. Trevor whined as he looked over at her.
"Reeeeally? But I'm so comfterbull... I dun wanna move."
"I'd trust you if your sister was here, but she didn't get to stay home sick. So get your cute butt upstairs before I smack it."
"Ughhh maaaaahhhmm." He groaned, getting up off the couch and heading upstairs. Sarah followed him, heading into her room as she turned on the tv for him.
"Alright, I'll be twenty minutes tops." She smiled, tapping the door as he grumbled, crawling under her covers on the bed. Staying an extra few seconds to watch him get nestled up, Sarah walked down the hall to the bathroom. Leaving the door open, she stripped out of her pajamas and left her glasses on the counter. She reached up, tugging the ponytail out of her hair, tousling the mess on top of her head. This soon led to the strange faces in the mirror, rubbing random parts of her body where she assumed she was gaining weight. The average inspection that she dreaded but always did. Each time would always be an evaluation where she would barely meet the standards she set for herself. She bit her lip before sighing, turning on her heel to hop into the shower.
Her hand reached for the plastic knob, turning the dial towards the red 'H'. Water started to pour down, Sarah stepping back to dodge the cold water before slowly easing herself into the waterfall of warmth. A smile slowly crept along her face as she rinsed her body with the heated water, running her fingers through her quickly knotting hair. She worked her fingers through it, tossing it over her shoulders before washing her face. She grabbed a tube of exfoliating scrub and brushed it along her features. Then she went back under the water to wash it off, rubbing her eyes before letting out a startled gasp. Outside of the shower was Trevor, watching his mother.
"Can I showah too? I feel icky." Trevor asked, already taking off his shirt. Sarah chuckled, holding her chest a bit as she nodded.
"Sure pup. C'mon in." She pulled the curtain open, letting her child step into the shower. She had thought he outgrew showers together, but she wasn't going to turn her own child away. Especially when he was sick. So the two showered, cleaning themselves and even washed each others hair. As they climbed out, Trevor asked a question that Sarah hadn't expected.
"Mommy, am I going to get boobs too?"
Sarah froze for a minute, having gone through a similar incident with Brittany. However, having Trevor ask such a question caught her off guard. Recovering from the shock of the question, Sarah grabbed two towels for herself and one for him.
"I'm not sure Trev. You have a different body than Brittany and I. We're female and you're male." Sarah smiled, handing Trevor his towel.
"Is that why you don't have a penis?" He asked, looking down at his own. His mother laughed softly with a nod.
"Exactly why." Sarah smiled as she wrapped her hair up in her towel before using the other to wrap her body up. The two started to dry off as the questions continued.
"But what if I want boobs?" He asked, rubbing his own chest.
"I umm... Well. You're extremely young for them, pumpkin. Hell, even Brittany's young for them. And that'll be a trip..." Sarah shook her head at the thought of the female years to come. "Ask me again in a few years and we'll see what we can do, alright pumpkin?" Sarah smiled to her kid as he smiled, rubbing his chest.
"Boooooooobs." He smiled before walking off into the hall. Sarah snickered, letting out a sigh as she dodged the bullet for now. Following her child into her room, she pulled out a loose t-shirt and a pair of undies, letting Trevor use a shirt of hers to sleep in. The two crawled into bed, cuddling up as he fell asleep. Sarah ran her fingers through his toasted blonde hair, feeling it dry as he passed out. It was only twelve pm and he was passed out. Reaching over to her phone, Sarah set a timer for two hours, giving the two a couple hours to cuddle and sleep before going to pick up Brittany from school. It wasn't exactly a vacation, but just what she needed to de-stress for the moment.
